Formed in 1883, the Traralgon Football Netball Club has been a pinnacle destination for local football and netball players in the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland region.
The first published match was at home against Warragul, with Traralgon taking the win.
The club went into recess in 1844, returning to competition in 1895.
The club has played in various leagues around the Gippsland region, with the most time spent in the Latrobe Valley Football League 1954-1995 and the current Gippsland Football League from 2005 until today.
The club had a brief stint in the VFL (formerly the VFA) from 1996-1997 after a successful period in the Latrobe Valley FL, during the early ’90s. However, the first season resulted in only one win, and whilst there was an improvement in 1997 with three wins.
The club returned to the Gippsland Latrobe Football League (the league changed its name from Latrobe Vally FL) with astounding success, taking the 1998 Premiership.
The club’s most successful period has been the 1960s & 1990s. Winning a combined 12 premierships of the club’s 31 senior premierships across the two decades.
The last senior Premiership for Football was won in 2015, defeating Leongatha at Traralgon Recreation Reserve, 12.11.83 to 7.11.53. For A Grade Netball, their last Premiership came in 2017.
